Can the smoke from incense be harmful to pets?

I have a red-eared slider (turtle) and am just wondering if I shouldn't be burning incense in this room.

1. truthfully it wouldnt be that bad for the tutle but dont do that because its bad for it
2. i don't think it would do any harm to the turtle but i wouldn't burn incense in the same room just in case.
